³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ hosts ALTE annual conference

³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ will soon be hosts to the 62nd ALTE meeting and conference in Cardiff.Ìý ALTE is the Association of Language Testers in Europe, and is an association of language test providers who work together to promote the fair and accurate assessment of linguistic ability across Europe and beyond.  ALTE was founded in 1989 by the University of Cambridge and the Universidad de Salamanca.Ìý Today, ALTE has 35 Full Institutional Member organisations representing 26 European languages.Ìý ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ is a full member in respect of the suite of Welsh for Adults examinations which it provides.Ìý

Commenting on this exciting event is Emyr Davies, ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s Welsh for Adults Senior Manager: “Twenty years have passed since we hosted the ALTE conference in Cardiff.ÌýÌý

We look forward to sharing experiences and ideas with colleagues from organisations from Europe and beyond on this important theme.â€Ìý

The theme of the conference will be the Assessment of Speaking and Spoken Interaction and speakers will include Professor Tony Green (CRELLA), Professor Tess Fitzpatrick (University of Swansea), Professor Nick Saville (University of Cambridge Press and Assessment and ALTE Secretary General) and other experts in the field of language assessment.Ìý The opening addresses will be given by Ian Morgan (³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Chief Executive), Dona Lewis (The National Centre for Learning Welsh) and Mark Drakeford, (Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Welsh Language).Ìý
